Spanning 25+ Years

Some of Andrei’s athletic career highlights include titles in the ATP Masters 1000 Canada in 2001, St. Polten in 2000, and the 1998 Japan Open. Between September 1998 and April 2007, the pro athlete also won six ATP doubles titles reaching a career-high of No. 28 in doubles.

After his playing career concluded in 2008, Andrei continued to earn his place court-side coaching Romanian powerhouses including Horia Tecău, Marius Copil, and former #1 Women’s Champion, Simona Halep. 

Most recently focusing on nurturing the top talents of the next generation of pro-athletes, Andrei has been coaching junior athletes. By providing match strategy and technique support, he is guiding young athletes in their journeys of going pro. 

Andrei Pavel is also developing the Romanian tennis scene through his consecutive role as Tournament Director of the Concord Iași Open, an ATP Challenger 100 tournament.

Moving forward

Andrei's Mission

As of 2023, Andrei and his partner, Adriana Pavel, have established the Andrei Pavel Association in an effort to identify and support talented youth players who have demonstrated their skills in national and international competitions.

The AP Association supports such players with athletic training, professional guidance, and funding on a per-need basis. The organization’s mission is to nurture the next generation of pro-level talent and guide their athletic journey.
